Interface
Interface is a waterfront park proposal for the Hangang River in Seoul, South Korea. The design covers 5.6 kilometres of pedestrian network, divided into three zones with six themes. Nine connection bases use ramps and elevators to link different levels and to create elevated platforms and shaded spaces for activities. Coloured, separated paths for walking and cycling are placed on either side of a planted drainage strip. New lighting and clear signage improve safety and orientation. Interface is intended to give people of all abilities equal access to the river.
Interface Waterfront Park by Vicky Chan was featured as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Interface Waterfront Park earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2020. The A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which celebrates excellent design of landscape designs, public parks, residential gardens, urban plazas, campus designs, green roofs, waterfront developments, Eco-Parks, botanical gardens and more.
